State Concerto Competition

The CSMTA concerto competition will be held on TBA at the Hartt School of the University of Hartford. This competition is open to high school students in piano, strings, winds, and voice.

The deadline for applications is TBA.

Rules and Regulations for Participation:

  1. Students must provide their own accompanists.
  2. Students will be required to perform a first or last movement of a concerto from memory. Vocalists must perform (from memory) art songs or arias that have available orchestral accompaniment.
  3. Judges reserve the right not to announce a first-place winner.
  4. The application fee is $30.00 and is non-refundable.
  5. Former first-place winners may not enter in a previously-won category.
  6. The teacher must be a member of CSMTA and have paid dues by September 30, 2014.
  7. Teacher or student must have legal residency within the state of Connecticut.
  8. A student must have studied with the current teacher for at least 6 months immediately prior to the competition.
